A Frog's Life
Imagine a blue-colored frog that can fly from tree to tree. It sounds too bizarre to be true. However, Chinese gliding frogs are real, and they use their webbed toes like sails as they soar through the forest. There are more than 4,000 types of frogs, and they aren’t all the small, harmless, green animals that most people picture when they think of frogs. The goliath toad can be two and a half feet in length. The golden poison dart frog is a vivid yellow and has enough toxin in its skin to kill ten humans. But no matter what their size or how they defend themselves, frogs are essential to Earth’s ecosystems. This book explores many unique species of frogs and explains the essential characteristics that make a frog a frog.
